From the "More interesting maps" department (and Gallup) comes this map and information about the religious intensity of America by state.
Adding a little political (and I'm surely entirely coincidental) spin: of the top 12 least religious states, President Obama won all of them except Alaska in 2012. Of the top 10 most religious states, Mitt Romney carried the entire list.

Was very encouraging to see that in the most religious states only 58% claimed to be very religious. And VERY glad to see that in Oregon (where I live) that only 29%claimed to be religious. We're getting there.
