I don't usually post political topics on this blog, but circumstances warrant a little departure from standard operating procedure.
Most citizens/voters/people of the United States seem completely unaware that after 240 years of a largely well-functioning American nation, our country as we have known it is coming to an end on Friday, January 20, 2017.
It's difficult—for me, at least—to describe that myriad ways in which Trump and the Republicans are going to rip apart the social, cultural, economic and governmental fabric that represents America. But I have little doubt that they are gleefully preparing to do so, and there seems to be no political force that can stop them.
Donald Trump is interested in only thing, and that is Donald Trump. Everything in his universe can be evaluated in the starkest of binary terms: is it or is it not good for Donald Trump. He is completely oblivious—and deliberately so—to what's good for America, or the people of America, or the many groups that comprise America (black people, small businessman, Catholics, Rotarians, New Yorkers, steel workers, ANY grouping). There's only one criteria for all positions, actions, policies, directions, discussions: What is good for Donald Trump?
This is going to play out in a million ways, and all of them are bad for our country.
