Obama Priorities

From the NY Times in an article about how the incoming Obama administration (in 2008) was basically appalled by the sense that there had been, under previous presidents, largely minor and vague consequences for federal employees who leaked info to the press:
The Obama administration has done its best to define those consequences, with an aggressive focus on leaks and leakers that has led to more than twice as many prosecutions as there were in all previous administrations combined.
A major objective or at least effect of the Obama presidency has been to hugely increase penalties for revealing what the government is doing. Or, stated another way, the President has done everything within his power to keep the American public from knowing what the government is doing. Way to go, Barack!
