Advertising

In case you're not up to speed on the latest techniques whereby internet companies capture information about you and deliver it to advertisers, who in turn use it to purchase ads specifically targeted at you and the information you just inadvertently provided:

Yesterday (Sunday) I used the Bed, Bath and Beyond website to see what oven thermometers were available, how much they cost, etc.

Today, on my Facebook page, there are ads for oven thermometers.

A few weeks ago, I searched around the internet for a filet knife that I am thinking about buying for a certain brother-in-law. Ever since, ads have been appearing on my screen from all the major knife companies.
