Liberal

The other day an email friend said something like, "So where are you on the political spectrum?" And I said:

In the political realm, I've always been a middle-of-the-road pragmatist. I grew up in a very politically active and politically balanced family—lots of Dems and Repubs arguing about everything, all the time. But as the Republicans have moved further and further to the right and into what I consider the territory of demagogues and extremists and idiots, my centrist position has become, relatively, more and more left of center. So in today's terms I'm a Liberal, by which I mean "sane person."
