Solstice

The Winter Solstice occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21. I was at the Nepenthe Restaurant in Big Sur, having dinner with my friend of 40-some years, John Dotson. The sky was inky-black with brilliant planets and stars, the air was crystal clear and not very cold. John took these pictures of the fire ring where we sat with our martinis, and the overhead lights on the patio; click on pictures to expand.
